Tetris bound for Xbox 360
News - Legal tussle concluded
A version of eponymous puzzler Tetris for the Xbox 360 is now en route, and will launch soon on Microsoft's console in Europe and North America. A version of the game for the 360 is already out in Japan, but an ongoing dispute between The Tetris Company and publisher THQ had prevented the latter from releasing the title as planned.
The legal dispute between the firms had been based on THQ's insistence that they owned control of publishing rights on the DS, despite Nintendo publishing the title first-party last April. THQ appear to have lost that battle... but in so doing did receive the all clear to publish on the next-generation console instead.
We'll keep you posted on this as we learn more, specifically when, and whether this new version of the classic will do anything special to take advantage of the Xbox 360's powerful innards.
