Xbox 360: More compatibility promised
News - 'Moore' than you think...
Whilst a Peter Moore interview last week might have left Xbox 360 owners feeling somewhat fortunate than any of their old Xbox games at all work on the new system ("I'm just stunned that we have hundreds of games that are backwards compatible," he told Kikizo), the latest reports out of Redmond indicate that the company haven't finished their work yet, with new backwards compatibility promised.
"We hear directly from them that they're in the testing phase of another update, and it should be out in the next few weeks. We saw the list they're testing, and it looks like they're hoping to add at least a dozen titles," a Gamerscoreblog update read, referring to the team at Microsoft charged with making old games work on the new console.
So far, Microsoft has managed to make over two-hundred Xbox games work on the new 360 console, not an easy task, we're told, as many "games did unique things to take advantage of the processing power of the Xbox, and that makes it difficult to emulate, especially when we then have to make new code work with existing (and future) compatible titles."
Despite these difficulties, we're promised further updates soon.
