Man pleads guilty to PlayStation murder

In Columbus, Ohio today, a 29-year-old man charged with killing one of his friends over a PlayStation dispute was sentenced to life imprisonment after pleading guilty to the charge brought before him. Arthur Demaurice Priestly duly pled guilty in Muscogee County Superior Court to the murder of his friend, James Edwards Jr., Residing judge, Bobby Peters, who oversaw the court proceedings, had previously rejected a bid by Priestly to plead guilty to a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter.

The deceased, James Edwards Jr. was shot and killed on March 20 while visiting Priestly's house for a social event. The two men were said to be consuming large quantities of alcohol during a barbecue when they became embroiled in a heated argument concerning whether music should be played through Priestly's PlayStation videogames console.

The argument spilled into violence and Edwards Jr. subsequently sustained a single gunshot to the chest that killed him. Reports indicate the two men were friends who had met while both working at a foundry and machine shop.
