Alex Seropian unveils X Quest

Alex Seropian left Bungie some three years ago now, having lead the studio and played a crucial role in the development of the original Halo. Seropian's Spectrum MediaWorks studio, which he founded after waving Bungie goodbye, have been decidedly quiet since inception. Until now that is, with Seropian unveiling a massively-multiplayer online game which is in development alongside a tie-in TV show.

X Quest the series will feature real-world technologies, with the TV show being created by Ron Howard's production company. The programme will take place in a 'space simulator', pitting two teams of seven against one-another over the course of a month. The game, meanwhile, is set in the near-future, with the same technologies featured in both mediums. Players of the game will be able to interact with the team in the TV series, and events in both will have a knock on effect on the other.

Seropian stated that he hopes future series of X Quest can feature players from the game, which his studio have been creating for the PS3 and Xbox 360 for about three years. It certainly sounds very ambitious, an early 2007 launch for both is on the cards at present.
