EB slip details of Halo 2 pack

News - There is one, it's out in May...

US e-tailer Electronics Boutique yesterday inadvertantly slipped a few details on Bungie's plans for Halo 2 into the public domain. As previously hinted at on Microsoft's Korean website, an expansion for Halo 2 is planned - dubbed the X-Pack. EB's accidental listing mooted a May 24th launch date stateside, with a US price of $19.99. Before the offending product listing was removed, other details were also noted by eagle-eyed browsers, like the nine new multiplayer maps promised, and the additional video content, in the shape of new cinematic sequences and a documentary on the game.

The new multiplayer maps will happily be Xbox Live-able, and we're told system link and split-screen options will endure. No singleplayer details were mentioned, something of a surprise for those expecting a new campaign to add to Halo 2's disappointing plot. A full announcement was promised this week, and we're expecting something on Friday. Of course, this could all be nonsense, though it does correlate with what we've been expecting, ever since Bungie noted that their "entire plan is designed to make new content available for everybody, those with Xbox Live and those without Xbox Live". More soon.
