Syndicate Racing onto the PC
News - Namco's racer PC bound
You may recall that one of the most valuable assets sold at the demise of Trip Hawkin's 3DO was the Eutechnyx developed rival for Need for Speed known as Street Racing Syndicate. Sold to Namco for $1.5 million, the then incomplete title grows nearer by the day, with additional news this weekend that a PC version is also in the works. Sadly, the PC edition won't be hitting stores at the same Autumnal release date as the console versions, and this is the reason that Namco refrained from confirming it officially:
"We actually have never sent out an official announcement on the PC because we don't have a ship date nailed down yet," a Namco spokesperson informed online publication GameSpot. "It is definitely coming but it'll be a bit after the console versions (which all ship at the end of August)."
Those with keener eyes than me were first alerted to the possibility of a PC version when a PC CD-ROM logo was spotted on Street Racing Syndicate's official website. More soon.
