E3 2004: Etailers offer DS at $199
News - Pre-order NInty's new handheld?
Despite Nintendo have failed to give the DS handheld a retail price in the two official opportunities affording to them at E3 thus far, a number of hyperactive retailers have already begun offering pre-orders of the device online, for $199. EB Games and GameStop are offering this price with free shipping (in the US only, obviously), and both etailers also give a ship date of November 29th, which is rather confident given even Nintendo couldn't offer a dating that specific.
This said, it is unlikely the stores in question know any more than the rest of us, EB Games appearing to cover themselves for if the retail price emerges at the speculated $149 with: "If the retail price is decreased you will receive the lower price." As well as noting "The ship date and retail price have not been confirmed and therefore are subject to change." So nothing new there then, but lets hope they're wrong on the price-tag, as $149 sounds much more like the cost of a winner to us.
More as we get it.
