E3 2004: Sega confirm new Phantasy Star

Having under-whelmed practically everyone with their much-hyped press conference in which the already known Matrix Online publishing deal and a gameplay demonstration took place, Sega took the odd decision of confirming afterwards that a brand new Phantasy Star game, Phantasy Star Universe, a brand new action RPG the publisher hopes will revitalise the series.

A trailer for universe has been shown on Sega's E3 booth, though sadly no details about the platform or a release date are known at this juncture. The pre-rendered footage shown looked to be broadly of the same style as the recent PS Online games, though we don't even know if it'll be off or online based yet.
