Square Enix confirms 1.8 million customers' details hacked
News - 2011 sees yet another major publisher hacked
Square Enix has confirmed the extent of the information accessed when their Member's Service was recently hacked.
The attack hit Japanese and US servers holding the details of a total of 1.8 million customers with one million Japanese customers and 800,000 US customers details at risk.
While the US and Japanese servers became exposed Square Enix has explained that the server containing details of their 300,000 European customers was not breached and the details of their European customers are safe.
The Japanese gaming giant stressed that while personal details like names, email details, phone numbers and addresses were accessed credit card details remain secure.
