Origin to power online gaming on the Wii U?
News - EA and Valve in talks with Nintendo over the Wii U
EA could be setting up Origin to power online gaming on the Wii U alongside supporting their own games on the PC.
An anonymous source has indicated that Nintendo and EA are in talks on getting Origin set up as a provider of online services for Nintendo's new home console.
The source also indicated that Valve were also in talks with Nintendo about getting Steam signed up for the Wii U but EA were very aggressively pushing Origin providing online services exclusively.
The source explained: "Many publishers are happy with Xbox Live's features, but they aren't happy with how strict Microsoft's guidelines are. Nintendo went with an open flexible approach with online because when Nintendo asked developers/publishers what they wanted in an online service, that was the number one thing they asked for."
