Factor 5 shun Cube

News - Multi-platform a-go-go?

You may have noted yesterday's interesting development at Canadian studio Silicon Knights, who have ended their Nintendo exclusivity agreement in favour of developing more for multiple platforms. It appears that Rogue Squadron developer Factor 5 may have reached a similar decision today, dropping development for the GameCube. Factor 5 have exclusively developed for Nintendo platforms since 1999.

"We are extremely excited about both DS and GCNext, so any talk of us abandoning Nintendo platforms altogether is just not true," Julian Eggebrecht was quick to affirm to GameSpot. That said, it must come as a blow to Nintendo, despite Eggebrecht adding "It is simply because we have moved into next-generation development."

Finally, the Factor 5 founder was upbeat concerning the future, stating mysteriously that "there might be a surprise coming from us." More as we get it.
