Google focus in on games

News - Android gets a push

It appears that Google are getting much more serious about games.

They recently hired industry veteran Mark DeLoura as developer advocate for games and this seems to show that the search engine giant are getting serious about interactive entertainment.

DeLoura's remit will be to help make games development on Android and Chrome OS much easier.

DeLoura wrote on his blog: "Those of you who know me know that I've always been a huge advocate for lowering the barrier to entry for game development. I want games easier to make, less expensive and time-consuming to create, and simpler to distribute. These are goals that may never be completely achieved, but by continually striving for them we learn what needs to be done to encourage more voices, and to accelerate the growth of the art form."

Thanks 1UP.
