VU sign Radical for six new Titles

News - Simpsons: Hit and Run creators working on new titles

The success of The Simpsons: Hit and Run has not gone unnoticed at publisher VU Games, who've announced today a new agreement with the title's developer, Radical Entertainment, to create six new games for multiple platforms - and also an option to purchase the developer outright if all goes well.

The two firms will collaborate on the development of these six new games, with Radical's game technology going the other way and Radical also gaining access to several of Vivendi's key licences. VU previously commissioned Radical to develop The Hulk, which went on to sell 1.3 million copies globally, but were no doubt even more impressed by the 1.8 million copies of The Simpsons racked-up since its launch in September 2003.

Radical employs more than 200 developers and is based in Vancouver, Canada. "We are looking forward to focusing our development efforts with VU Games, as we've had tremendous success working with them over the past few years," gushed Radical boss Ian Wilkinson. "Our team is very excited about today's announcement and the new titles in development."
