No Final Fantasy VII remake for PS3
News - HD a toughie, say Square Enix
A spruced-up remake of seminal RPG Final Fantasy VII isn't going to happen - Square Enix tell us.
Speaking with Ultimania magazine (thanks VG247), producers Yoshinori Kitase and Motomu Toriyama state that the Final Fantasy VII 'style' will be difficult to pull off in high-definition.
"It is a result of considering HD graphics will be the mainstream. Considering the amount of work to make graphics that deserve HD, it is hard to make towns in the conventional style," Toriyama says.
Of course, Final Fantasy VIII scrapped towns to achieve an HD remake, but perhaps Square feel these are integral. More as we get it.
