MadWorld 2 a possibility, says Platinum
News - More mature Wii titles from Sega after all?
The director of Bayonetta studio, PlatinumGames said that, despite Sega shying away from more mature titles, that they would be interested in revisiting their gore-soaked Wii title, MadWorld.
MadWorld, whilst being well received by critics, sold very poorly at retail shifting only 66,000 copies as of March of last year according to NPD figures.
This has not discouraged Platinum's director Shigenori Nisikawa from touting the possibility of a sequel.
Speaking to the UK's Official Nintendo Magazine he said: "I think MadWorld was very well received and was acknowledged for its innovative graphical style and gameplay. We would definitely be interested in making a sequel in the future."
He also had nothing but good things to say about the Wii itself, describing it as "a very well-balanced piece of hardware and stating that it is more than capable of handling mature content.
