Android phones struggle against iPhone

News - Games decline on Google phone format

Speaking online this week, mobile developer Gameloft have revealed that they are cutting back on development of games for Android mobile handsets because the Google-powered devices aren't doing nearly as well as the iPhone.

Other game makers are said to be joining Gameloft in shifting resources towards Apple's handset, claiming that Android's answer to the App Store just isn't producing enough business.

"We have significantly cut our investment in Android platform, just like," finance director Alexandre de Rochefort told Reuters at an investor conference.

"It is not as neatly done as on the iPhone. Google has not been very good to entice customers to actually buy products. On Android nobody is making significant revenue. We are selling 400 times more games on iPhone than on Android."
