Modern Warfare 2 might pass 14m
News - Pachter talks up new FPS
Chatting online with Bonus Round this week, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has said that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could sell in excess of 14 million copies before the year is out.
"Last year sold about 8 million in the Christmas quarter, I think most people think this will do 10-12. It really depends on marketing - if they blitz the airwaves and we see ads on every basketball game, football game, college football game, every beauty Pageant maybe 14 million," the businessman tells us.
The previous title in the hit series has so far managed over 13 million in sales, and given the strength of the brand and Activision's own growth, this target could well be realistic.
