PS3 leads Japanese next-gen race
News - But DSi and PSP still tops, overall
The latest numbers from Media Create are in from the land of the rising sun, with the DS leading the charge in last week's hardware stakes.
While both handheld formats still dominate the Japanese chart, with sales of nearly 64,000 and 51,000 respectively (the PSP being the latter, of course), PS3 sales were also up following a price cut and the arrival of the PS3 Slim.
The PS3 was the next best system, will sales of over 37,000 units, followed closely by the (also price-slashed) Wii with over 35,000 - the Xbox 360 a paltry fifth with 4,000, the PS2 last with over 2,000.
We'll have more from Japan just as soon as it hits our desks. With a thwack, presumably.
