PS3 drops to second on Japanese chart

News - DSi back on top

Price cut and new SKU be damned, the PS3 has dropped to second on the Japanese hardware chart for the week ending September 27th.

The DSi resumes its familiar position at the top of the sales roster, with sales of over 63,000 - PS3 sales dropping over 10,000 over the previous week's impressive tally to finish just shy of 40,000.

The PSP comes in third with 17,000 - although that is likely to be up once this week's numbers are in (next Friday) thanks to the PSP Go effect.

The DS Lite hangs on with 15,000 sales, the Wii languishing on less than 12,000, although a price cut for this system is now imminent.

The Xbox 360 and the PS2 prop up the chart with 5,000 and 2,000 sales respectively. Expect something of a shake up next week. Maybe.
