Jay Leno talks up role in Gran Turismo PSP
News - Car obsessive proud of involvement in racer
US television giant Jay Leno has revealed that it was 'an honour' to be involved in PSP racer Gran Turismo. Leno's voice was used in the new title, and the chat show host said working on Polyphony's game was 'a thrill'.
Leno is something a petrol-head by the sound of things, and his involvement in the project came about when Polyphony asked if they could visit his garage and record audio samples of car engines.
"I guess they heard I had some unusual cars and they wanted to come here and record the sounds. To me it was great, because as a kid, I used to buy those records - where other kids were playing the Beatles - I would have the record of the BRM 16-cylinder...
"So they call me and ask [about the cars] and I said sure it would be fun to do and they asked if I wanted to add my voice to it, and I think it's a huge honour and yeah its a big thrill."
The game is out alongside the PSP Go on October 1st.
