PS3 sales still high in Japan

News - But DSi takes the crown

The PS3 may have lost the lead in last week's Japanese hardware chart, but sales this week show they have levelled out, even though the DSi is the nation's top-seller for the week ending September 21st.

The DSi managed sales in excess of 66,000 units, compared to the PS3's 51,000 - which still represents a dramatic increase in sales from earlier in the summer.

The PSP managed sales of 21, 000 while Wii sales are down slightly at over 16,000, the Xbox 360 falling below the 5,000 mark.

Sales of the PS2 languish further still, numbers for the week showing a slight decline after the frenzy of excitement post-GamesCom. Still, a Wii price cut is just around the corner so overall things are likely to be on the up again soon.
