ODST players complain over disc errors

Anecdotal word on the grapevine appears to suggest that Halo 3: ODST may be causing some Xbox 360 players a few issues, Bungie.net brimming with purchasers of the game bemoaning disc errors they say can render the new FPS unplayable.
According the innumerable forum complaints, which developer Bungie are no doubt investigating, the read errors seem to occur mainly during ODST's primary campaign, while Firefight and multiplayer action seems to work just fine for the most part.
Aging Elite model Xbox 360s are apparently at the centre of most complaints, although it is presently unclear if this is the only system effected.
