Japanese hardware sales see DSi lead
News - Big sales, too
The Nintendo DSi console is still top of the pops in the latest Japanese hardware chart - the console nearly doubling sales of the second-placed system, the Wii.
For the week ending August 16th, sales of the DSi near 88,000 units, the Wii in second with nearly 48,000.
Third is the PSP system, with nearly 40,000 sales amassed so far - the Xbox 360 overtaking the DS Lite with just over 9,000, compared to the next-placed DS Lite's 8,000 or so.
The PS3 had a torrid week by contrast, with sales of just under 6,000, followed by the PS2 on about 5,000. We expect the PS3's price cut to help boost the console's standing in future charts.
