Wii leads March NPD figures
News - Resident Evil the top game
The Wii was once again America's number one selling games console over the month of March, the latest sales figures in from NPD reveal to us.
The Wii managed to top 600,000 units, followed by the DS with over 560,000.
The Xbox 360 was an impressive third with 330,000 boxes shifted, the PS3 some way behind with nearly 220,000 systems sold. Then there's the PSP with nearly 170,000 and the PS2 bringing up the rear with over 110,000.
The biggest games of the month were Resident Evil 5, Pokemon Platinum Version, Halo Wars, Resident Evil 5 and Wii Fit.
Notable under-performers have been the real headline grabbers, however, Killzone 2 failing to break the top five, while GTA: Chinatown Wars is left scrabbling with less than 100,000 sales. More on all this soon.
