Games offer more bang per buck - Kotick
News - Acti boss confident over gaming future
Speaking with CNBC in a new interview, Acti-Blizz chief Bobby Kotick has said that games can ride out the recession by offering more value for money. Kotick is a firm believer in games offering more entertainment than other mediums - the 'cost per hour' being very low.
"I dont think [the videogames industry] is exempt from the kind of [financial impact] over the next few years but I think the one thing we benefit from is the cost per hour of videogame entertainment is lower than any other form of entertainment," he said.
Kotick believes that this 'cost per hour' advantage is one of the reasons that big media firms like Disney, Viacom and Time-Warner are leaping into gaming en masse.
Do you believe that games are better value entertainment? Will you continue to spend in spite of economic worries?
