Gizmondo return on hold

The return of the Gizmondo gaming handheld platform has been put on hold by those behind this plucky revival. The system was due to return this month, but that plan is now out of the window.
The global economic down-turn has been blamed for this change of heart, the system's investors apparently jumping ship as the credit crunch terrifies business types around the world.
Apparently, the Gizmondo will still make it back to shelves - in some form - but with investors having given up the system will now be reimagined as a mobile phone hybrid device.
Is there any hope for the Gizmondo... at all?
