Will Wright backing McCain
News - US games industry affiliations revealed
Develop magazine (as reported by MCV) have been investigating the political affiliations of various games industry executives, discovering that Sims creator Will Wright is backing Republican nominee John McCain, as is Activision CEO Bobby Kotick.
Both industry luminaries have donated in excess of 2,000 USD to McCain's campaign. Curt Schilling of 38 Studios is also backing the Republican's with a wedge of green-backs.
The Democrats, however, boast a hefty list of industry backers: Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick, CEO Ben Feder and Rockstar chief Sam Houser all offering money to the party's cause. ESRB chief Patricia Vance has also handed over in excess of 2,000 USD to Obama.
EA CEO John Riccitiello has dished out over 4,000 USD to Obama, while Sony Online's John Smedley and MMO wizard Richard Garriott are also backing the Democratic charge.
Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos has also donated a whopping 32,900 USD to Obama, while EA Casual chief Kathy Vrabeck is also a supporter. Lastly, Valve's Gabe Newell gave money to the Dodd campaign - but has yet to offer the Obama camp funds.
