Peter Moore attacks "soulless" E3

News - Demands more for the future

Another high-profile executive has taken a poke at the month's E3 expo, which took place in LA a couple of weeks ago.

Echoing similar sentiments from elsewhere in the industry, Moore said the showcase event, held once again at the LA Convention Centre after absconding to Santa Monica in 2007, was "soulless and lacking an epicentre".

Dave Perry has also dissed this year's showcase, adding to a chorus of dissenters angered by the predicament the once grand expo has found itself in.

"There was a palpable sense of frustration at the structure and logistics from all participants, from publishers like ourselves to the working press and financial analysts. Soulless and lacking an epicentre, the fragmented layout gave no indication whatsoever that we are the fastest growing entertainment medium in the world," Moore rails.

"While I am not sure I want to revert back to the old days of excess and one-upmanship," he ranted, "I do know that this format isn't working."

Moore says that the public could once again be invited given correct 'planning'; he also assured that EA would work with ESA to "making things right" in the future.
