The Japanese magazine 'Diamond Loop' is reporting that the GameCube successor will not be ready until 2006, yet Nintendo still plan that it will be the first 'next-gen' console to hit the shelves.Internally codenamed "N5", the console is widely believed to be critical to the game giant’s success in this market after the lukewarm sales of the GameCube worldwide. A launch before Sony and Microsoft bring their offerings to market would undoubtedly be a big win.
However – it has been extensively reported by numerous agencies that both the Xbox 2 and PS3 are due in 2005, albeit an estimated late 2005. The plot thickens.
