Dr. Kawashima, the mastermind behind the best-selling Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training on the DS has revealed he hasn't personally kept any of the royalties earned from the puzzle series - despite having earned 11 million GBP for his name and involvement.

Instead Kawashima is building a new 300 million lab at his university, another set to open in March. "Everyone in my family is mad at me but I tell them that if they want money, go out and earn it," the Doctor added, affirming that he has no interest in wealth. "If I had such time to spare, I want to do my research."

Kawashima also revealed he doesn't like his kids playing games, instead trying to encourage them to engage in more cerebral pursuits, with gaming limited to weekends. "Making them study is not to entertain children but to pressure them to make efforts. People fall to lower and lower places unless they are driven to go higher."
