Silent Hill V revealed

Komami today reveal the next title in the survival horror series Silent Hill, announcing that Silent Hill V is in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

A visual treat is promised by Konami who state the title take full advantage of high-definition, demonstrating a world of 'shadowy terror', as players once again reveal the dark secrets of the mysterious town. We're told to expect 'more control than ever', over the plot's central character, with atmosphere, adventure and storytelling set to be the main focusses of the title.

Battling beasties in both Silent Hill and Shepherd’s Glen, players will now have access an 'enhanced combat system', allowing them to execute a number of offensive and defensive moves to counter the eclectic collection of nightmarish creatures that inhabit the town. Puzzles have been enhanced, we're told, with environmental clues now helping players crack the town's secrets. An all-new soundtrack from famed composer Akira Yamaoka will also help add to the tension.
